The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has intensified its crackdown on criminal gangs and related activities in Buruburu Sub-County as it moves to strengthen security and protect residents.
Buruburu Sub-County Criminal Investigations Officer (SCCIO) Simon Kirui said the DCI had stepped up proactive and intelligence-led policing as part of efforts to prevent and combat criminal activities in the area.
Kirui said strengthened cooperation between law enforcement agencies and the community, coupled with swift investigations and professional policing, had continued to produce positive results.
“The DCI is also leveraging technology, intelligence sharing and multi-agency collaboration to enhance the prevention, detection and investigation of crime,” Kirui said.
The security agencies are also strengthening intelligence gathering and information sharing to enable them to identify and respond to emerging criminal threats more effectively.
Kirui urged residents to work closely with the National Police Service by providing timely information on suspected criminal activities.
He further encouraged members of the public to take advantage of the National Police Service’s open-door policy and share information with law enforcement officers without fear.
The SCCIO said cooperation between residents and security agencies remained critical in preventing crime, disrupting criminal networks and maintaining peace across Buruburu Sub-County.
The intensified operation comes as security agencies continue to place greater emphasis on intelligence-led policing and multi-agency approaches in tackling organised and gang-related crime.
