Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Nairobi are investigating the death of a 58-year-old Kenyan-French national, Georges Pierre Samuel Roomoguere, who was found dead with a gunshot wound at his residence in Hardy, Karen.
The incident was initially recorded at Hardy Police Station as a suspected suicide, but questions surrounding the circumstances of his death have prompted further investigations.
According to preliminary reports, police officers who visited Roomoguere’s residence along Mukoma Road discovered his body in a ground-floor bedroom, lying in a pool of blood.
The deceased had sustained a gunshot wound to the head, alongside an unexplained abrasion on the left side of his abdomen.
Investigators also recovered a Glock 17 pistol containing 14 rounds of ammunition, two additional magazines loaded with a combined 30 rounds, and one spent cartridge at the scene.
The items recovered are expected to form part of the forensic investigations as detectives seek to establish the events leading to Roomoguere’s death.
His body has since been transferred to Lee Funeral Home, where a postmortem examination is expected to help establish further details surrounding the death.
While the incident remains classified as a suspected suicide, detectives are continuing investigations to determine the exact circumstances under which the 58-year-old died.
Police have yet to establish publicly whether any other person was involved in the incident, as investigations continue.
