Police have arrested two suspected members of the outlawed Katalang criminal gang during a security operation in Muhoroni Sub-County, Kisumu County.

The suspects were apprehended in the Masogo area of North East Kano following intelligence reports, according to the National Police Service.

The operation was conducted by a multi-agency security team comprising officers from Muhoroni, Masogo and Miwani police stations as part of efforts to crack down on illegal criminal groups.

During searches conducted in the area, officers recovered crude weapons and several customised T-shirts bearing the name “Bimos Empire,” which police linked to the outlawed gang.

The two suspects were taken to Masogo Police Station, where they remain in custody pending processing and arraignment in court.

The National Police Service said it remains committed to combating illegal gangs and enhancing public safety across the country.
