Inspector-General of Police Douglas Kanja is leading a Kenyan delegation in Italy for bilateral and technical engagements aimed at strengthening security cooperation between the two countries.
On Monday, October 12, 2026, the delegation held talks with Italy’s National Cybersecurity Agency (ACN) in a meeting hosted by the agency’s Deputy Director-General, Dr Nunzia Ciardi.
According to the National Police Service, the discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in cyber crisis management through a whole-of-society approach, bringing together different institutions and stakeholders to address cybersecurity threats.
The Kenyan delegation later visited Leonardo’s Cyber and Security Solutions Division, where officials were briefed on technological capabilities designed to support security operations across multiple domains.
The engagements form part of broader efforts to strengthen institutional partnerships and explore technical cooperation in addressing emerging security challenges, particularly in the digital space.
Kanja is accompanied by a team from the Kenyan Embassy in Italy led by Ambassador Fredrick Matwanga.
The visit provides an opportunity for Kenyan and Italian security institutions to exchange expertise and explore areas of collaboration in cybersecurity and wider security management.
