Women Members of County Assemblies (MCAs), political aspirants and women leaders from across Kenya are expected to convene in Nairobi on Tuesday for a forum aimed at strengthening women’s political leadership ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The meeting, organised by the Council of Governors Women Caucus, popularly known as G7, will bring together women MCAs from all 47 counties, women seeking elective positions, leaders from Parliament and representatives of the national government.
The forum will be held at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi from 10:30 a.m. under the theme “Catalyzing Women’s Leadership for 2027 and Beyond.”
The gathering seeks to strengthen women’s participation in politics by bringing together women leaders and aspirants under a coordinated and unified agenda.
According to the organisers, the meeting will focus on consolidating women’s voices and political efforts to advance transformational leadership and strengthen their collective influence in Kenya’s political landscape.
The forum comes as political activities begin gathering momentum ahead of the next General Election, with aspirants positioning themselves for various elective seats across the country.
By bringing together elected women leaders and those seeking political office, the G7 Women Caucus aims to provide a platform for collaboration, shared strategies and a common vision for advancing women’s leadership at both county and national levels.
The meeting is also expected to provide an opportunity for women leaders to strengthen networks and coordinate efforts towards greater representation and influence in political decision-making.
Kenya’s political landscape continues to present opportunities and challenges for women seeking elective positions, making collaboration and coordinated political engagement key priorities as the country prepares for the 2027 polls.
