Renowned Kenyan businesswoman Joyce Gituro has opened up about her views on marriage, her desire to be pampered by a partner and the attention she continues to receive from younger men, particularly members of Generation Z.
Gituro, who is 54 years old, admitted that her independent lifestyle could make adjusting to marriage challenging, saying she is accustomed to doing things on her own despite wanting to experience the affection and special treatment associated with being a partner’s “baby girl.”
“Mimi nikiolewa nitasahau niko na bwana because I am used to doing my things. I really want a baby girl treatment, but again, at my age, unless you get a white, Kenyan men kuna mwenye atakupea baby girl treatment at 54?” she posed.
Her remarks highlighted her desire to experience a relationship in which she feels pampered and cared for, while questioning whether Kenyan men would be willing to offer such treatment to a woman her age.
The businesswoman also revealed that she continues to attract attention from younger men, with many Generation Z admirers reportedly sliding into her direct messages and addressing her affectionately despite the age difference.
“Gen Z ndio kwanza wengi kwa my DM. They are so bold. Unamwambia you are mannerless, anakuambia, ‘Don’t look at the manners.’ I am 54 years old and Gen Zs are in my DM calling me babe,” Gituro said.
Her comments have sparked an interesting conversation around age differences in relationships, women’s independence and the expectations people have when seeking romantic partners.
Gituro’s remarks also underscore the growing visibility of conversations about dating preferences among older women, particularly those who have established independent lifestyles and are still open to receiving affection and attention from potential partners.
