Police have arrested three suspected members of a criminal gang accused of terrorising residents in Matisi Rural and Kwa Hamisi areas of Trans Nzoia West Sub-County.
The suspects were apprehended during a coordinated, intelligence-led operation conducted by officers from Matisi and Kitale police stations at their respective residences.
According to police, the trio had been linked to a series of violent robberies targeting members of the public in the two areas over the past several weeks.
During the operation, officers recovered a motorcycle believed to have been used as a getaway vehicle, alongside a machete allegedly used to threaten victims and a pair of jungle trousers.
The recovered items have been secured as exhibits to support investigations into the reported robberies.
The suspects are being held at Matisi Police Station as officers complete the necessary procedures ahead of their arraignment in court.
The arrests are expected to aid investigations into the gang’s alleged criminal activities and efforts to enhance security in the affected areas.
The suspects will remain subject to due process, and the allegations against them will be determined by the court.
