The administration of US President Donald Trump has revoked more than 300,000 visas since he began his second term in January 2025, with Kenyans among those affected by the immigration crackdown.
The US State Department announced the latest figure on Tuesday, saying visa revocations had accelerated in recent weeks. In an earlier update issued on August 10, the department reported that more than 175,000 visas had been revoked since Trump returned to office.
State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott said the administration had revoked visas at a faster pace than any previous administration.
Pigott said the government had “zero tolerance” for foreign nationals on visas who break the law, commit fraud or undermine US national security.
The announcement comes as the Trump administration expands its efforts to tighten immigration enforcement, including measures affecting people who entered the country legally.
