Police have seized 927 rolls of suspected bhang in separate operations in Kiambu and Kirinyaga counties, with one suspect arrested in connection with alleged trafficking.

In Kiambu County, officers from Ruiru Police Station recovered 596 rolls of bhang during an intelligence-led operation in the Wataalam area of Ruiru Sub-County.

According to the National Police Service (NPS), the recovered substances were secured as exhibits at Ruiru Police Station as officers pursued other individuals suspected of being linked to the distribution network.

In a separate operation in Kirinyaga County, officers from Ciagi-ini Police Station, working alongside National Government Administration Officers, intercepted a suspect in Ciagi-ini village.

The suspect was allegedly found trafficking 331 rolls of bhang and possessing crude weapons. Police arrested the suspect and detained them at Ciagi-ini Police Station pending arraignment in court.

The recovered substances and weapons were also secured as exhibits at the station.

The National Police Service said it would continue conducting intelligence-led operations to disrupt the distribution of narcotics and dismantle suspected trafficking networks.

The service also commended cooperation between police officers, government administration officials and members of the public in supporting the operations.
