Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has hit back at President William Ruto following remarks by the Head of State praising him during his development tour of the Ukambani region, declaring that the president’s days in power are numbered.

In a strongly worded statement, Kalonzo accused Ruto of recognising him as his main political competitor, saying the president’s remarks were the most honest he had made in four years.

“The chief predator says I am his main competitor and that I am overworking to show him up. That is the most honest he has been in four years,” Kalonzo stated.

The former Vice President further cast himself as a key figure in the campaign to remove Ruto from power, saying he believed God was using him to lead Kenya towards political change.

“Mr Ruto, God is indeed using me to take you home and to deliver this nation from your predator regime,” he declared.

Kalonzo also highlighted his recent travel schedule, saying he had visited Machakos and Mombasa before travelling to London for two keynote addresses, followed by a trip to Rome to meet senior members of the Catholic clergy and later Bondo.

He used the schedule to contrast his movements with those of the president, insisting that he travelled without relying on private jets or public funds.

“Machakos, Mombasa, then London for two keynote addresses, then Rome to meet senior members of the Catholic clergy, then Bondo, all in three days. No private jet, no taxpayers’ money,” he said.

The Wiper leader also accused the president of relying on propaganda and misinformation, arguing that launching and relaunching projects while attacking political opponents would not change the country’s political realities.

“Propaganda and fake news are your go-to. Launching and relaunching small projects just to insult other leaders and call them names will not change the truth. That is pathetically sad!” Kalonzo added.

He maintained that he would continue challenging the Kenya Kwanza administration politically while focusing on what he described as the country’s future through the Ukombozi movement.

“Keep talking about me, Mr Predator, and keep praising me. Your days are numbered. It is a collective WANTAM!” he said.

Kalonzo concluded by reiterating his commitment to discussing Kenya’s future and advancing the Ukombozi movement, signalling that the political contest ahead of the 2027 General Election is likely to remain a key battleground between the opposition and the Ruto administration.
