Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has dismissed Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna’s presidential ambitions, arguing that the lawmaker lacks the experience required to lead the country.
Speaking at Yare in Samburu County during the three-day Maralal International Camel Derby, Duale also criticised former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over his claims that he played a key role in President William Ruto’s victory in the 2022 General Election.
The Cabinet Secretary predicted that the 2027 General Election would mark a shift away from ethnic politics, marginalisation and discrimination.
Duale, who was accompanied by Samburu Governor Lati Lelelit, made the remarks as political leaders continue positioning themselves ahead of the next general election.
Meanwhile, Governor Lelelit highlighted development projects being implemented by the Kenya Kwanza administration in Samburu County.
He claimed that the government’s four-year record in the county had surpassed that of previous administrations, pointing to its development agenda as a key measure of its performance.
The remarks come amid growing political debate over leadership, regional development and possible contenders ahead of the 2027 elections.
