APA Apollo Group has expanded its regional insurance operations after acquiring majority stakes in Tanzania’s Meticulous General Insurance and Metro Life Assurance.
The acquisitions, which followed regulatory and legal approvals, give the Kenyan insurance group control of the two companies and strengthen its presence in the Tanzanian market.
APA Apollo Group Chief Executive Officer Risper Ohaga said the move would improve access to innovative insurance products and support the group’s long-term growth strategy.
The group said the two companies would continue serving their existing customers while benefiting from its regional expertise, technology and insurance capabilities.
The expansion adds to APA Apollo’s efforts to grow its insurance business across East Africa.
