The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) PLC has been recognised for its outstanding contribution to the shipping and logistics industry after winning the Port Operations Excellence Award at the East, Central and Southern Africa Shipping and Freight Logistics (ECSAFOT) Tournament Industry Excellence Awards held in Mombasa.
The award, presented last evening, recognised KPA’s contribution to the shipping, freight and logistics sector, as well as its commitment to collaboration, professionalism and creating a positive impact within the industry and the wider community.
Speaking on behalf of KPA Chief Executive Officer Captain William Ruto, Dr. Fred O. Oyugi, the General Manager for Internal Audit and Risk Assurance, reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to nurturing and supporting talent through sports.
The ECSAFOT tournament, held under the theme “Connecting Freight Logistics Through Football,” brought together players and key stakeholders from the shipping and logistics industry.
The event highlighted the role of sports in strengthening professional relationships, promoting teamwork and fostering unity among players and stakeholders across the regional maritime and logistics sector.
KPA’s recognition further underscores its contribution to the industry beyond port operations, particularly through initiatives that promote collaboration, talent development and community engagement.
