The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) is conducting a pedestrian safety intervention at Mutindwa Footbridge to promote safe road-crossing practices and reduce accidents involving pedestrians.
The initiative aims to enhance public awareness on road safety by encouraging pedestrians to use designated crossing points, particularly the footbridge, instead of risking their lives by crossing the road at undesignated areas.
During the intervention, NTSA urged pedestrians to embrace responsible road-use behaviour and make proper use of available pedestrian infrastructure.
The authority noted that the initiative seeks to reduce pedestrian-related road crashes while fostering safer roads for all road users.
Pedestrians using the Mutindwa area have been reminded that using the footbridge is a crucial safety measure that can help prevent avoidable accidents and save lives.
