The ports of Mombasa and Lamu are expected to handle a combined 53 vessels over the next 14 days, reflecting continued maritime activity along Kenya’s coastline.
According to the latest vessel projections, the Port of Mombasa is expected to receive the largest share, with 44 vessels scheduled to dock during the two-week period.
The vessels will comprise 22 container ships, 11 conventional cargo vessels, five car carriers and six oil tankers.
Meanwhile, the Port of Lamu is projected to handle nine vessels, including seven container vessels and two general cargo vessels.
The combined projections mean that the two ports will handle 53 vessels, with Mombasa accounting for the majority of the expected maritime traffic.
The anticipated arrivals underscore the role of the two ports in facilitating cargo movement, international trade and the transportation of petroleum products through Kenya’s maritime gateways.
