The bags weighed a combined 1.13 million kilogrammes, with the overall average price standing at 295.90 US dollars, equivalent to approximately KSh38,449, per 50-kilogramme bag.
The earnings were lower than the previous week’s auction, which generated about KSh1.01 billion from 21,636 bags weighing 1.33 million kilogrammes.
Prices varied considerably, with individual bags fetching between 48 US dollars and 387 US dollars, reflecting differences in the coffee lots traded.
New Kenya Planters Co-operative Union PLC marketed 2,049 bags, while Alliance Berries Limited sold 3,267 bags. Other participants included Mt Elgon Coffee Marketing Agency and Kirinyaga Slopes Coffee Brokerage Company.
