Samsung has introduced its Connected Living Experience in Kenya, showcasing how its SmartThings platform can connect household appliances and electronic devices through a single digital ecosystem.
The initiative gives consumers an opportunity to explore how compatible televisions, refrigerators, washing machines and smartphones can be linked and managed through a mobile application.
Through SmartThings, users can monitor the status of connected appliances, adjust selected settings remotely and create routines to manage devices within their homes.
Samsung Kenya’s Consumer Electronics Business Head, Sam Odhiambo, said the initiative was intended to demonstrate practical applications of smart-home technology rather than present it solely as a luxury offering.
The technology also supports compatible devices from other manufacturers, allowing users to connect different products within the same ecosystem.
The launch comes as technology companies increasingly promote connected-home systems that combine automation, energy monitoring and remote device management.
For Kenyan consumers, wider adoption of such technology will depend on factors including affordability, reliable internet connectivity and access to compatible appliances.
