Healthcare providers have been given an additional 14 days to complete their contracting with the Social Health Authority (SHA) for the 2026–2029 cycle.
SHA has moved the deadline from September 30 to October 14, 2026, saying the extension will allow facilities more time to complete the contracting process.
During the extension, facilities will continue operating under their existing contracts. SHA says no further extension will be granted once the new deadline expires.
Providers accepting the extension must confirm, sign and return the agreement within three days through the e-contracting platform. Services to SHA beneficiaries will only continue at facilities that accept the extension.
Facilities that decline the extension have been advised to work with SHA county managers to transfer patients receiving ongoing care to contracted facilities.
SHA will hold HAKIKA contracting clinics across all counties from October 5 to assist providers with the process.
The authority says 10,006 providers have so far expressed interest in the contracting process.
