The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) customs officers at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) have intercepted 40 undeclared iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max phones valued at KSh8.2 million.

The phones were seized from a passenger arriving from Dubai who, according to KRA, had entered Kenya four times within nine days.

The passenger reportedly told customs officers that he was carrying the phones as a courier for a client based in Dubai.

KRA said the interception highlights the risks travelers face when transporting undeclared goods on behalf of third parties.

The authority has warned passengers against agreeing to carry goods for other people without knowing their contents and ensuring that all required customs declarations are made.

The latest interception comes as KRA continues to step up checks at points of entry to curb customs violations and revenue leakage.
