Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus has played down his recent fallout with Cristiano Ronaldo, insisting that the situation can be resolved and that the door remains open for the legendary forward.
Jesus described the disagreement as a misunderstanding, suggesting that there is no lasting damage between him and Ronaldo.
“It was a misunderstanding with Cristiano and for me it’s all open, in my opinion it’s easy to resolve,” Jesus said.
The remarks come amid growing attention surrounding Ronaldo’s relationship with the Portugal national team following his recent departure from the camp.
Despite the tension, Jesus appears keen to move forward, leaving the possibility of Ronaldo returning to the national team open.
Ronaldo remains one of Portugal’s most influential players, and his continued involvement could be crucial as the European giants push towards their upcoming international commitments.
Jesus’ comments could therefore pave the way for a reconciliation, with the Portugal boss making it clear that he is willing to put the disagreement behind them.
