Arsenal came from behind to secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Leeds United in the Premier League on Saturday, October 10, 2026, after a dramatic second-half turnaround at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners showed resilience to overturn a one-goal deficit, with Riccardo Calafiori restoring parity before substitute Bruno Guimarães struck the decisive goal to hand Mikel Arteta’s side three crucial points.

Leeds had made a promising start to the contest, frustrating the hosts and creating opportunities during a competitive first half. Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya was called upon to make important saves to keep his side in the game.

The visitors’ persistence finally paid off in the 55th minute when James Justin found the back of the net following a well-delivered pass from Gabriel Gudmundsson, giving Leeds a deserved lead and putting pressure on the home side.

However, Arsenal responded quickly. Calafiori levelled the contest in the 62nd minute, capitalising on a dangerous attacking move involving Ben White to bring the hosts back into the match.

With momentum shifting in their favour, Arteta turned to his bench in search of a winner. The introduction of Guimarães, Viktor Gyökeres and Jurrien Timber injected fresh energy into Arsenal’s performance.

The changes proved decisive in the 70th minute when Guimarães fired home from the edge of the box after being set up by Declan Rice, completing Arsenal’s comeback and sending the home supporters into celebration.

Leeds attempted to respond but struggled to find another breakthrough as Arsenal worked to protect their advantage in the closing stages.

The victory offered Arsenal a timely response following their 3-0 defeat to Brighton before the international break, while underlining the importance of squad depth in a tightly contested Premier League campaign.

For Leeds, the defeat was a frustrating outcome after taking the lead and competing strongly for long periods, with defensive lapses ultimately proving costly.

Arsenal will take confidence from their comeback as they continue their pursuit of the Premier League title, while Leeds will look to regroup ahead of their next fixture.
