American rock band Blondie is preparing to release a new studio album in February 2027, marking its first full-length studio project since 2017.
Titled High Noon, the 13-track album is scheduled for release on February 26, with the band introducing the project through its new single, Spectral Eyes, released on Thursday, October 15.
The track was written by Johnny Marr, formerly of The Smiths, who also contributes guitar to the recording. The album features additional contributions from musicians including Glen Matlock, Zach Condon of Beirut, and Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius.
Recording sessions for the project began in 2022, with producer John Congleton returning to work with the band after producing its 2017 album, Pollinator.
The new release arrives as Blondie continues to draw on its musical history while introducing fresh material. The band rose to international prominence in the late 1970s and early 1980s, producing hits including Heart of Glass, Call Me and The Tide Is High.
Blondie’s influence also extends to the development of pop and rock, with its 1981 song Rapture widely recognised for bringing rap into the mainstream pop charts.
The completion of High Noon preceded the death of the band’s longtime drummer Clem Burke in 2025, according to reports on the album’s announcement.
The forthcoming record will give listeners new material from a group whose catalogue has spanned several decades, while bringing together collaborators from different corners of the music industry.
