Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff has survived a shooting incident in Mumbai, India, without sustaining any gunshot wounds, according to police investigating the attack.
The 36-year-old actor was reportedly in a car leaving a football club in the Juhu suburb on Sunday evening when gunmen opened fire at close range.
Videos circulating in the media appear to show at least two armed men firing multiple shots towards the front passenger seat of a slowly moving vehicle as a crowd watches nearby.
Police confirmed that Shroff escaped the attack unharmed, although two people were reportedly injured, including his driver.
The incident has sparked fresh concerns over the safety of high-profile personalities in India, following a series of targeted attacks against celebrities and prominent political figures in recent years.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde condemned the shooting, warning that authorities would not tolerate attempts to intimidate public figures.
“These attempts to intimidate people will not be tolerated, and we will put an end to this hooliganism,” Shinde said.
He visited Shroff on Sunday evening following the incident and said the actor and his mother had been left shaken by the attack.
The shooting comes amid growing concerns over gun violence targeting prominent personalities in India. In 2024, Indian police arrested two members of a criminal gang over a shooting attack targeting the residence of Bollywood star Salman Khan.
In the same year, influential politician Baba Siddique was shot dead in Mumbai, further raising concerns about security in the city.
Shroff, the son of two actors, made his Bollywood debut in 2014 with the romantic film Heropanti and has since established himself as an action-film star.
Beyond acting, he is a football enthusiast and has maintained an interest in the sport.
Police investigations into the latest shooting are ongoing, with authorities seeking to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack and identify those responsible.
