The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has clarified the circumstances surrounding the arrest of two men in connection with the murder of 34-year-old Farida Peter Sangka in Isinya, Kajiado County.

In a statement, the DCI said preliminary investigations had established that Ndayishimiye Deo, a Burundian national who initially reported the incident to police, had helped bury Sangka’s body after allegedly being instructed to do so by her husband, Shon David Rabassa Kioko.

According to investigators, Kioko summoned Deo on Saturday, October 24, 2026, and directed him to assist in burying his wife’s body at a farm in Entarakuet. Deo reportedly complied before returning to his own residence.

Three days later, on October 27, Kioko went to Isinya Police Station accompanied by his son and reported his wife missing, presenting her photograph to officers.

The following day, Deo reported the matter at Kiserian Police Station after confiding in a friend, who advised him to approach the police. The friend has since recorded a statement with detectives, according to the DCI.

Deo’s report prompted police action that led to the discovery and recovery of Sangka’s body from a shallow grave.

The DCI said that although Deo brought the matter to the attention of law enforcement, his alleged involvement in concealing the body did not absolve him of accountability.

Both Deo and Kioko remain in police custody as investigations continue to establish the circumstances surrounding Sangka’s death.

The agency reiterated that reporting crime is a civic responsibility, but warned that anyone found to have participated in an offence or its concealment would also be subjected to due process of the law.
