Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) has launched an internal investigation following public complaints raised by a patient over her treatment at the Kisumu-based facility.

The hospital said it has initiated a formal probe to establish the facts surrounding the concerns raised by Ms Grace Akinyi.

JOOTRH management has also contacted Akinyi directly, assuring her that the complaints have been received and are being addressed.

The hospital said the investigation will seek to establish what happened and determine whether any action is required based on its findings.

Management has appealed to members of the public to allow the process to run its course as it reviews the circumstances surrounding the complaint.

JOOTRH said it will take appropriate action once the investigation is concluded.

The hospital is a Level 6A national teaching and referral facility serving patients from Western Kenya and beyond. Its official website lists patient-centred care among its core priorities.
