Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) women’s basketball head coach Samuel Ocholla has expressed frustration following the last-minute postponement of the National Women’s Basketball Premier League final playoffs.
The best-of-five series between defending champions KPA and Equity Hawks was scheduled to begin last Saturday, with Game One, followed by Game Two on Sunday. However, both fixtures were postponed until further notice, leaving the highly anticipated final without a confirmed start date.
The unexpected postponement has disrupted preparations for the two sides, who are set to battle for the league title in what promises to be a fiercely contested series.
KPA secured their place in the final after sweeping TH3 Swish 3-0 in their semifinal series, underlining their determination to retain the championship.
Equity Hawks, meanwhile, booked their ticket to the final after overcoming Stanbic Aces 3-2 in a hard-fought semifinal battle to set up a showdown with the Dockers.
The upcoming series is expected to provide a stern test for the defending champions, with Equity Hawks eager to dethrone KPA and claim the coveted title.
With the playoffs now postponed indefinitely, attention will turn to the league organisers for an official announcement on when the finals will resume, as both teams await clarity on the next steps in the championship race.
