Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Dr Oburu Odinga has called on Kenyans to embrace patriotism, inclusivity and mutual respect as the country celebrates Mashujaa Day.
In a message shared on X on Tuesday, October 20, Oburu expressed gratitude to Kenyans, ODM members and the Broad-Based government family for their goodwill, support and solidarity.
He said the continued commitment to shared values remained an inspiration for the country’s journey forward.
“I want to extend my deepest and most sincere gratitude for your overwhelming well wishes, steadfast support, and solidarity,” Oburu stated.
The ODM leader urged Kenyans to extend the spirit of patriotism beyond national celebrations by practising it in their homes, workplaces and communities.
He noted that inclusivity, hard work and mutual respect were essential in building a brighter future for generations to come.
“Together, through inclusivity, hard work, and mutual respect, we will secure a brighter future for generations to come,” he said.
Oburu also wished Kenyans and their families a joyful, peaceful and reflective Mashujaa Day, while invoking God’s blessings upon the country.
“God bless you, and God bless Kenya. Usawa ni Sawa,” he concluded.
Mashujaa Day, celebrated annually on October 20, honours the heroes and heroines whose sacrifices and contributions shaped Kenya’s struggle for independence and continue to inspire the country’s development.
This year’s celebrations provide an opportunity for Kenyans to reflect on the values of patriotism, national unity and service as the country recognises the contributions of those who have helped shape its history and future.
