Police have seized more than 25 kilogrammes of cannabis in separate operations in Kiambu and Bungoma counties, leading to the arrest of two suspects.
In Kiambu County, officers from Juja Police Station intercepted a motor vehicle, registration number KDV 137V, in the KK Towers area of Juja Town.
A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of approximately 20 kilogrammes of cannabis sativa. The driver was arrested, while the seized substance was secured as an exhibit.
In a separate operation in Bungoma County, officers acting on a tip-off from a member of the public searched a rental residence at Kamukuywa Market in Kimilili Sub-County.
Police recovered cannabis stored in two green sacks and a blue basin. They also seized four packets of rolling papers and a rolling stick.
The suspect was arrested and taken to Bungoma Police Station for processing ahead of arraignment in court.
The National Police Service thanked members of the public for sharing information that contributed to the seizures, saying operations targeting illicit drugs would continue.
