Onyi, an actor widely known for his role in the popular Kenyan television comedy series The Real Househelps of Kawangware, has sparked concern among members of the public following a video that has circulated online.

The footage caught the attention of Nairobi Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service Geoffrey Mosiria who expressed sadness over what he observed and called for efforts to establish whether the actor needs professional assistance.

In a social media post, Mosiria said the video had left him concerned about Onyi’s welfare, urging the public to approach his situation with compassion and understanding.

“Jameni, nimeona hii video na imenihuzunisha sana,” Mosiria said.

Mosiria raised concerns about the possibility that the actor could be experiencing personal difficulties, including potential mental health challenges or substance dependency. However, these concerns have not been independently verified, and no confirmed medical information about Onyi’s condition was provided.

Mosiria argued that before pursuing plans to help Onyi establish a business, it would be important to understand his circumstances and determine whether he requires psychosocial support, medical attention or rehabilitation services.

“Before Jaguar helps him set up the business he has requested, I believe we should first establish whether he needs psychosocial support, medical attention, or rehabilitation services,” he stated.

The remarks highlight the importance of understanding the challenges an individual may be facing before deciding on the most appropriate form of assistance.

Mosiria added that he was willing to facilitate access to professional services should Onyi require them, emphasising that recovery and emotional support can be just as important as financial empowerment.

“Sometimes, what someone needs most is not just financial assistance or a business opportunity, but also someone who cares enough to help them heal and regain their dignity,” he said.

Mosiria appealed to anyone who knows Onyi personally to help establish contact with the actor, saying he was ready to assist him according to his needs.

He provided the telephone numbers 0720836634 and 0701625858 for people who may help facilitate communication.

The politician also used the incident to reiterate his position on alcohol regulation and the fight against illicit brews and drugs, saying he would pursue stricter controls if elected governor next year.

“Onyi, you are not alone. There is still hope, and your life matters,” Mosiria added.

Onyi’s appearance in The Real Househelps of Kawangware made him a recognisable face to audiences who followed the Kenyan comedy series. The latest online attention has renewed focus on the actor, although details about the circumstances surrounding the video and his current situation remain unclear.

As discussions continue online, the priority remains establishing the facts about Onyi’s welfare while respecting his privacy and dignity.
