Kenya says its participation in the 81st United Nations General Assembly strengthened international partnerships while advancing opportunities in investment, industrialisation and technology.

Prime Cabinet Secretary and Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi said the high-level engagements, led by President William Ruto, included discussions on affordable development financing, international cooperation and reforms to global institutions.

Among the key outcomes was the signing of a Kenya–UNIDO Country Partnership Programme for 2026–2030, which includes approximately 750 million US dollars in associated investment opportunities in manufacturing, technology transfer and enterprise development.

Kenya also signed cooperation instruments with the Emerging Markets Working Group at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution and advanced responsible artificial intelligence partnerships with Anthropic.

On climate action, Kenya supported Africa’s common position ahead of COP31 and sustained momentum towards the Clean Cooking Summit scheduled for Nairobi in January 2027.

The ministry said the government also expanded its diplomatic network through new political consultation agreements and the establishment of diplomatic relations with the Solomon Islands.

It added that the next priority is to translate the commitments into investment, job creation, technology transfer and tangible benefits for Kenyans.
