Detectives have arrested a second suspect linked to the violent robbery in Parklands, Nairobi, which sparked public outrage after footage of the incident went viral on social media.
The suspect, identified as Emmanuel Akolo, alias Murife, was apprehended during an intelligence-led operation in Deep Sea slums within the Parklands-Highridge area.
According to detectives, intelligence reports linked Akolo to the robbery captured in the widely circulated video, which showed a member of the public being violently attacked and robbed of personal valuables.
His arrest marks a significant development in the ongoing investigations, following the earlier apprehension of another suspect in connection with the incident.
Detectives say they are pursuing the remaining accomplice, who is still at large, as efforts to dismantle the gang behind the robbery intensify.
Akolo remains in police custody as detectives finalise his processing ahead of his arraignment in court.
The arrests come amid growing public concern over violent robberies in Nairobi, with the viral footage drawing attention to the brazen nature of the attack and renewed calls for swift action against those responsible.
