Police in Kasarani have arrested two suspects accused of snatching a mobile phone from a member of the public during an operation in the area.
The suspects were arrested on Sunday, October 4, after officers conducting an operation in Clay City, Sunton and Hunters reportedly spotted them shortly after the alleged theft.
According to police, the two attempted to escape when officers moved in, triggering a pursuit that ended with their arrest.
A search of the suspects led to the recovery of the stolen mobile phone as well as several crude weapons, police said.
The suspects were taken into custody and are expected to be arraigned in court, while the recovered weapons have been kept as exhibits.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts by police to curb phone theft and other forms of street crime in Kasarani Sub-County.
Police have also urged members of the public to continue sharing information on suspected criminal activity through community policing channels.
The suspects will have an opportunity to respond to the allegations against them in court.
