Lawyer Miguna Miguna has threatened to publish explosive revelations about the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s final months, making a series of unverified allegations about his widow, Ida Odinga.

In a strongly worded social media post, Miguna declared that forthcoming books would detail what he alleged was a strained relationship between the couple before Raila’s death.

“In a few months, books will be published on how Ida Betty Odinga ABANDONED her late Raila Amolo Odinga as he ailed before he died,” Miguna wrote.

He claimed that the couple rarely lived under the same roof during Raila’s final months and alleged that they did not share a bed or meals when they were together.

Miguna further alleged that Raila’s care during his final days was largely handled by personal bodyguards, nurses, physicians and other caregivers.

“Raila’s last days were spent with personal bodyguards, nurses, physicians and caregivers,” he claimed, adding that Ida was allegedly absent during several of Raila’s medical visits abroad.

The lawyer also promised to publish accounts of alleged neglect, physical abuse and extortion, although he did not provide evidence to substantiate the accusations in his post.

Beyond the allegations about the couple’s private life, Miguna claimed that Ida had a role in influencing the political compromises Raila entered into following Kenya’s disputed presidential elections in 2007, 2013 and 2017.

He alleged that the agreements were influenced by behind-the-scenes engagements involving individuals he accused of stealing Raila’s electoral victories.

Miguna also made claims about Raila’s last will and testament, alleging that the former prime minister did not bequeath anything to his wife.

“That’s why Raila Amolo Odinga DID NOT bequeath anything to her in his Last Will and Testament,” he wrote.

However, Miguna did not provide documentary evidence to support his claims about the will or the circumstances surrounding Raila’s final days.

The lawyer insisted that more details would emerge through the publications he says are being prepared, predicting that the revelations would attract widespread attention.

“In the end, the whole truth will come out and most of the world will be stunned,” Miguna declared.

He further stated: “We are going to TRANSFORM this country with PURE and UNADULTERATED TRUTH.”

Miguna concluded his post by defending his stated commitment to revealing what he considers hidden truths, declaring that “Telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”
