Police have arrested a suspect and seized 100 kilogrammes of cannabis sativa after intercepting a motorcycle along the Busia–Mumias Highway in Kakamega County.
According to the National Police Service (NPS), officers from Matungu Police Station recovered the narcotics during a routine patrol at Matungu Trading Centre on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.
The suspect was arrested and is being held at Matungu Police Station pending arraignment in court.
Police also impounded the motorcycle, with both it and the seized cannabis being held at the station as exhibits.
The NPS said it remained committed to dismantling drug trafficking networks.
