The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has condemned reckless driving witnessed on Kenyan roads, warning that such behaviour endangers the lives of motorists, passengers and other road users.

In a statement shared on its official X account, the authority described the conduct as “reckless and unacceptable,” insisting that road safety must remain a priority.

“Safety must never be compromised when lives are on the line,” NTSA stated, expressing concern over individuals who continue to engage in dangerous driving despite ongoing efforts to improve road safety across the country.

The authority noted that reckless drivers not only put their own lives at risk but also expose passengers and other road users to potential accidents and serious injuries.

“It is deeply unfortunate that while comprehensive measures are being implemented to address road safety challenges, individuals still engage in such risky actions,” the statement read.

NTSA thanked members of the public for raising concerns over the incidents and condemning the dangerous behaviour, emphasising the importance of public cooperation in promoting safer roads.

The authority has urged anyone with the registration details of the vehicles involved to share the information through direct messages (DMs) on its social media platforms.

“We will investigate and take immediate, appropriate action,” NTSA assured the public.

The move comes amid continued efforts to address road safety concerns and promote responsible behaviour among motorists, with the authority calling on road users to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations to protect lives.
