Police in Isinya, Kajiado County, have launched a murder investigation after a missing person report led detectives to a suspected burial site on a farm in Entarakuet.
The case involves Shon David Rabassa Kioko, who had reported his wife, Farida Peter Sangka, 34, a mother of four, missing at Isinya Police Station.
However, his casual labourer, Ndayishimiye Deo, a Burundian national working as a farmhand on the property, later reported the matter at Kiserian Police Station, alleging that his employer had killed his wife and instructed him to help bury her body in a shallow grave on the farm.
Police said officers visited the scene and arrested both Kioko and Deo before taking them to Isinya Police Station for questioning.
The suspected burial site has been secured as investigators await a court order to exhume the body for examination and documentation.
The two are expected to appear before the Kajiado Law Courts on Thursday, where investigators intend to seek orders permitting the exhumation and further detention of the suspect as investigations continue.
The allegations have not been tested in court.
