The Political Parties Disputes Tribunal (PPDT) has lifted orders suspending the registration of The Ukombozi Alliance (TUA), paving the way for the political outfit to proceed with its registration ahead of the 2027 General Election.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, October 29, 2026, the office of former Vice President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka said the tribunal had discharged its earlier orders that had halted the registration process.
The matter, filed as PPDT/E007/2026, Allan Jayuga Akivaga v. Office of the Registrar of Political Parties and Wiper Democratic Movement-Kenya, was heard by the tribunal on Thursday afternoon. With the suspension orders discharged, the tribunal no longer has any order in place preventing the registration of The Ukombozi Alliance.
“The Registrar of Political Parties is accordingly at liberty to proceed with and conclude the registration of The Ukombozi Alliance in accordance with the Political Parties Act and all other applicable laws,” the statement said.
The decision marks a significant step for the political outfit, which can now pursue the remaining registration requirements under the applicable legal framework.
The development comes as political parties and leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election, with party registration and coalition-building expected to play a key role in shaping the country’s political landscape.
The statement was issued by the Communications Department of the Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka Presidential Secretariat.
