US President Donald Trump clashed with a reporter who repeatedly questioned whether his decision to skip a scheduled Saturday rally in Kansas was linked to his health or travel plans.

Trump criticised the journalist during the exchange, telling them to put themselves in shape and accusing them of looking unwell.

The reporter had pressed the President on his decision not to attend the rally, prompting Trump to insist that he was in good health.

“You’ve been following me for two weeks. I feel perfect,” Trump said.

He maintained that his absence from Kansas had nothing to do with his health, explaining that he did not see the need to travel to the state because he was confident about the upcoming elections there.
