Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has announced that the Linda Mwananchi Movement will hold a National Delegates Conference (NDC) on December 13, 2026, as the outfit moves to establish political structures across the country.
Speaking during the rebranding of his political outfit, previously known as TEP, to Linda Mwananchi, Sifuna said the movement intends to establish offices in all 47 counties.
“We want to have offices in all the 47 counties. We are not starting from zero. I was the Secretary-General of a national political party and a student of Baba Raila Odinga,” Sifuna said.
He revealed that the movement was already attracting political figures from different parts of the country, claiming that it would begin its grassroots mobilisation with chairpersons from 38 counties who previously served in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
“We are starting with chairpersons from 38 counties from ODM. When we said we were leaving with everything, including the windows and doors, we were only leaving ODM with cockroaches and bedbugs,” he remarked.
In a further boost to the movement, Sifuna announced that Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza and Dr Makau Mutua, whom he identified as having been associated with the Wiper party, had joined the outfit.
“Governor Kawira Mwangaza has decided to leave her party and join us, together with Dr Makau Mutua from Wiper,” he stated.
The rebranding marks a new phase in Sifuna’s political mobilisation, with the planned December 13 NDC expected to provide a platform for establishing the movement’s leadership and organisational structures.
