Cryptocurrency exchange Binance is preparing to resume withdrawals in phases following a major security breach involving approximately $6.3 billion in digital assets.

The company reportedly recovered or covered about 95 per cent of the stolen cryptocurrency, with the phased resumption expected to restore access to affected services.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has attributed the cyberattack to TraderTraitor, a hacking group linked to North Korea.

The incident has renewed concerns about cybersecurity in the cryptocurrency industry, where exchanges handle large volumes of digital assets and remain potential targets for sophisticated cyberattacks.

The breach also highlights the growing importance of security measures as cryptocurrency adoption expands globally.
