American media personality and businesswoman Paris Hilton has paid tribute to pop star Britney Spears by recreating her iconic outfit from the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards for Halloween 2026.
Hilton unveiled the costume on October 23, sharing photographs and videos on social media in which she wore an outfit inspired by Spears’ performance of I’m a Slave 4 U.
The recreation featured a green top, embellished shorts, fishnet tights, knee-high boots and sparkling accessories. She also included a snake draped around her shoulders, referencing one of the most memorable moments from Spears’ performance.
Spears famously performed the song at the 2001 VMAs with a live python around her shoulders, creating an image that remains one of the most recognisable moments in the awards show’s history.
Hilton also shared a behind-the-scenes video discussing her admiration for Spears and the challenge of recreating the performance look.
The two entertainers have been friends for years, and Hilton has previously drawn inspiration from Spears’ music videos for her Halloween costumes, including looks associated with Oops!… I Did It Again and …Baby One More Time.
Her latest tribute has added another nostalgic pop-culture moment to this year’s Halloween celebrations.
