Lewis Hamilton secured his first pole position as a Ferrari driver after delivering a late qualifying lap at the 2026 Mexico City Grand Prix.
The seven-time Formula One world champion clocked 1:16.514 to finish ahead of Mercedes driver George Russell, who was just 0.009 seconds behind.
Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc completed the top three, while Max Verstappen qualified fourth.
Hamilton’s achievement marks his first pole position since 2023 and his first since joining Ferrari.
The final qualifying session produced a close contest, with Russell briefly taking the top position before Hamilton improved on his time in the closing moments.
The result gives Ferrari a strong starting position for the race at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez as Hamilton targets another milestone in his first season with the team.
