A heated exchange unfolded at Citizen TV studios after veteran journalist Jeff Koinange and former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala traded personal jibes during a televised discussion.
The confrontation saw the two engage in a war of words, with Malala taking aim at Koinange’s appearance before the veteran journalist hit back with personal remarks targeting the former senator’s political record.
Malala reportedly referred to Koinange as the “Atwoli of the media”, in an apparent swipe at his hairstyle, drawing a sharp response from the journalist.
Koinange responded by describing Malala as a political party hopper, questioning his political loyalty through a controversial comparison that further escalated the exchange.
The journalist also brought up Malala’s past political encounters, claiming that Senator Methu had snatched his chain, adding another layer to the heated confrontation.
The exchange took an even more dramatic turn when Koinange compared Malala to a prostitute, prompting the former senator to fire back with a reference to Nairobi’s infamous Koinange Street.
Koinange was quick to respond to the remark, triggering one of the most entertaining moments of the back-and-forth.
