Kenyan singer and songwriter Ywaya Tajiri has released his debut extended play (EP), Wingu la Mapenzi, marking a new chapter in his solo music career.
The six-track project was released on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, under Ywaya Tajiri Entertainment.
The EP follows the release of Somebody’s Daughter, a single unveiled in October ahead of the full project. The song explores romantic interest and the desire to build a relationship, using a blend of English and Swahili.
Ywaya, who is also known for his work as one half of the musical duo Watendawili, has built a growing profile through collaborations with Kenyan artistes, including Bensoul. He featured on Bensoul’s single Mariwana, released in October 2026.
His other musical credits include Chai ya Saa Kumi, which gained attention earlier this year, as well as collaborations with members of the Kenyan music scene.
With Wingu la Mapenzi, Ywaya brings his solo work into focus through a project centred on love and relationships, while continuing to build on the musical identity he has developed through collaborations and his work with Watendawili.
