Athletics Kenya has released its calendar of events for the 2026–2027 season, outlining a packed schedule of cross-country meetings, road races, track and field competitions and major international championships.

The calendar, drafted by Athletics Kenya Senior Vice President and Director of Competitions Paul Mutwii on October 27, 2026, covers competitions from October 2026 through December 2027.

The domestic programme includes the Chepsaita Cross Country Tour Gold scheduled for December 5, 2026, and the National Cross Country Championships, which will also serve as trials for the World and African championships, set for February 13, 2027, in Eldoret.

The road racing calendar features the Nairobi City Marathon on June 6, 2027, and the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon scheduled for October 31, 2027. The 2026 edition of the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon was held on October 25.

Track and field competitions will include time trials at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru, alongside championships for the police, Kenya Defence Forces, prisons and National Youth Service. The Athletics Kenya National Championships are scheduled for June 24–26, 2027, at Afraha Stadium.

Kenya will also host major international competitions, including the Sirikwa Classic Continental Tour Gold in Eldoret on February 27, 2027, and the Kip Keino Classic Continental Tour Gold at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi on April 30, 2027.

On the continental and global stage, the calendar lists the African Cross Country Championships in Mbabane, Eswatini, on March 20, 2027, and the World Athletics Road Running Championships in Yangzhou, China, on March 28.

The World Athletics Championships are scheduled for Beijing, China, from September 11–19, 2027, with Kenya’s national trials planned for late July. The African Games are listed for Cairo, Egypt, from August 27 to September 10, 2027.

The calendar also includes the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, scheduled for October 30 to November 15, 2026, among other competitions.

The programme is expected to guide athletes, coaches and organisers as they prepare for domestic races and qualification events leading up to major international championships.
