Como produced a stunning performance to defeat Manchester United 4-1 in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, with Nico Paz scoring twice to inspire the Italian side to a memorable victory.

The result was particularly significant for Como, who were making their debut in the UEFA Champions League, marking a remarkable milestone in the club’s history.

They celebrated the occasion in style by dismantling one of Europe’s most recognisable football clubs.

Manchester United arrived hoping to build momentum and secure back-to-back wins following their recent poor form. However, they were left frustrated as Como combined attacking quality with defensive organisation to dominate the encounter.

Paz opened the scoring just two minutes into the match, beating Harry Maguire before curling a superb left-footed effort into the far corner to give the hosts an early advantage.

Como continued to control proceedings, putting United under sustained pressure and exploiting gaps in their defensive structure.

The Italian side doubled their lead through Anastasios Douvikas in the second half, with Paz providing the decisive pass to punish United’s defensive shortcomings.

Paz then completed his brace in the 57th minute after capitalising on a mistake by substitute Carlos Baleba, driving forward before finishing to make it 3-0.Como completed their scoring when Jacobo Ramón headed home a cross from substitute Kaiki in the 76th minute, sealing a commanding four-goal advantage.

Manchester United managed to find a consolation goal in the dying minutes through Joshua Zirkzee, who scored late to deny Como a clean sheet, although his effort did little to change the outcome.

The defeat represents another frustrating night for United, whose hopes of restoring confidence and building consistency were dealt a major blow. For Como, however, the victory added an unforgettable chapter to their European journey.

Making their Champions League debut and recording such a convincing win against Manchester United underlined the ambition of Cesc Fàbregas’ side.
