The High Court has ordered the forfeiture to the Government of Kenya of assets worth Sh426.85 million linked to former Kilifi Principal Land Registrar Felix Mecha Nyakundi, his wife, Stellah Nyaboke Otwori, and companies associated with the family.
In a judgment delivered on September 18, 2026, Justice Benjamin Mwikya Musyoki declared various funds, properties and motor vehicles held by the defendants to be unexplained assets under the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Act.
The court ordered the forfeiture of credit balances in several bank and M-Pesa accounts associated with the family, as well as multiple properties registered in their names and those of companies linked to them. The assets include properties in Nairobi, Mombasa, Lamu and Kilifi, alongside three motor vehicles registered to Stellah Nyaboke Otwori.
The judge directed the relevant banks, service providers, land registrars and the National Transport and Safety Authority to facilitate the implementation of the forfeiture orders.
The defendants were also ordered to jointly and severally meet the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission’s costs in the case.
