DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua has placed the fight against corruption at the centre of his proposed agenda for Kenya, saying a corruption-free environment would encourage more Kenyans living abroad to invest back home.

Speaking at Victory Chapel in Dallas, Texas, Gachagua said his ongoing engagement with the Kenyan diaspora is part of the process of developing his manifesto ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Gachagua urged Kenyans in the diaspora to actively participate in discussions on the governance and development of Kenya, saying their experiences abroad can help inform solutions to challenges facing the country.

He said his administration would seek to create an investment environment where Kenyans can access government services without having to pay bribes.

“You do not have to bribe anyone to get services,” he said.

Gachagua said addressing corruption would be among his key priorities, arguing that improving governance would also make it easier for Kenyans abroad to invest their money and expertise in the country.

He also pledged reforms in healthcare, saying Kenya could draw lessons from the system in the United States as it seeks to improve service delivery.

The former Deputy President has been using his extended US tour to engage Kenyan communities on issues including governance, investment, healthcare, jobs and economic development. In Dallas, he has specifically called for the diaspora to have a greater role in Kenya’s decision-making.
