Mashujaa Day celebrations are underway at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) grounds in Kondele, Kisumu County, with County Commissioner Ramadhan Mwabudzo presiding over the event.
The celebrations bring together residents and local leaders to mark the national holiday, which honours Kenya’s heroes and heroines for their contributions to the country’s independence, development and progress.
Mashujaa Day, observed annually on October 20, provides an opportunity for Kenyans to reflect on the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and other individuals who have played significant roles in shaping the nation.
The event at KMTC Kondele grounds forms part of celebrations taking place across the country, as Kenyans pay tribute to those whose efforts have contributed to the country’s history and continued development.
