Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw by Leeds United in the Premier League at Elland Road on Sunday, with Bryan Mbeumo’s first-half goal cancelled out by Dominic Calvert-Lewin after the break.
United took the lead in the 35th minute when Mbeumo finished from close range after Youri Tielemans delivered the ball across the Leeds penalty area.
The visitors went into the break ahead but were unable to maintain their advantage as Leeds returned with greater urgency in the second half.
Calvert-Lewin levelled for the hosts in the 51st minute, reacting quickly inside the box to turn the ball past United goalkeeper Senne Lammens.
Leeds continued to put pressure on the visitors, sending crosses into the penalty area and testing United’s defence as they searched for a winner.
Manchester United also created opportunities late in the match but could not find a second goal, leaving both sides with a point.
The draw extended United’s search for greater consistency in the league, while Leeds were left to settle for a share of the points despite their second-half response.
